My foam roller is my best friend tonight......Did the Kyle Field Ramp Romp 5K this morning on Texas A&M University. We started out outside the football stadium and ran up the east side ramp to the top of the stadium then across to the west side ramp to go down on to the field, and around to the northern end west ramp to go up the top again and across to go down the east ramp.......but wait..........now go do it all again!! This was on hell of a workout this morning!! Yep, that is up and down 4 sets of ramps and across twice!! Finished in 31:31
This is right as we are heading up to the first ramp for the first time.
Coming on to the field.
Out of the last ramp....finally to the finish....there I am in the bluish-purple top.

New Running Companions
Busy running weekend so far......
Friday night at 9PM my husband and I did the G.L.O.W (Giving Light for Other's Way) 5K run on Texas A&M campus. There was about 3000 participants, mostly college kids.....so needless to say, we felt old!! This was my husband's very first 5K, and sadly to say probably last. He told me "I kept waiting for it go get fun....". No matter, I am so proud of him! He ran the whole time!! Our time was 33:05, not bad for me doing a slower pace and hanging back to wait on him. We had a great time doing this together. I had a coupon for Cold Stone ice cream, and we treated ourselves afterwards.
I was up bright and early on this chilly morning here.....34 degrees when we left the house.....to do the See Spot Run 3K with my cute litte Frito. Yep, this was his very first run too!! I'm one proud momma......he was so well behaved and ran the whole course too!! I was a bit concerned about his social skills going into this, but he never once barked much less growl at his fellow participants. There was a nice showing of fellow runners with their dogs. This was put on by the Texas A&M Veterinary School. We had a lot of fun this morning.
Just so proud of my guys and love them so much for always supporting me in all my runs I do and all my daily exercise routines I go through!!
Until next time, keep hitting the pavement!!
This is from the GLOW Run 5K:
Sweets for my sweet
With my little Frito at See Spot Run 3K. He's rockin' his AC/DC shirt!!
Waiting to start
And, we're done!!

GPS Watch
Just have to say that I love my Garmin.... I got this exact one, Forerunner 10, for Christmas & it's awesome! This is my first GPS watch, so I really have nothing to compare it to. It was very easy to set up & use. I download my data to Strava to keep track of my runs. What kind of device do you use?

#2 for 13 in 2013 challenge done
Completed second run for the 13 in 2013 challenge on Saturday in Bryan, TX....Downtown Love Run 5K.
This was the very first run I ever did which was last year, though I only did the 3K because I thought I wasn't ready to run a 5K yet. So this one has special meaning for me♥
Weather was fair....mostly cloudy and 54 degrees at race time. That's about a perfect running temp for me. Sure beats last year, with a crazy north wind and 34 degrees!!
We ran in the downtown historic part of Bryan, TX. Some hills, but mostly flat to slight street elevations. Only thing was some of the streets were pretty crappy and that felt like trail running with all the busted asphalt and holes.....was worried I'd twist an ankle more than anything!! Did pretty good.......time of 31:44
Have two runs next weekend........so see ya when I'll report on those!

Need to shock body
I've been doing the same routine for a while now...........so, I need to change it up to put the body in shock and kick start a little weight loss and muscle definition.
Been thinking about doing Crossfit. Has anyone done this? I've researched it a bit, and it has definitely piqued my interest. I have also looked at a few of my local establishments online, and they all look very promising. I do boot camp, and that is mostly cardio with a few strengthening exercises. I like the idea of Crossfit because of the more detailed strength circuits.
Any and all comments welcome, good or bad on this.
Thanks!
